Blues is a vocal and instrumental form of music based on the use of the blue notes. It emerged as an accessible form of self-expression in USA, with proeminent African influence. The blues is the roots of jazz, rhythm and blues, rock and roll and bluegrass. Some of the subgenres are Chicago Blues, Contemporary Blues, Electric Blues etc.
